Things that catch your attention on the street

Usually, when I walk on the Street I don’t relise what’s happening around, I’m not reflexive about it, I’m like a turtle or a snail living in my interior world, thinking about what I’ve done and the things I’ll do at the day, tomorrow, the next week, even the next months.  However, there’re two things that allways catch my attention on the street: The street singers and the street vendors.

I think there are few things that differentiate Chileans to the other people in the world and this is the voice, that loud voice, proyected, potent, kind of worn-out and sometimes high pitched. I love it. They carry centuries of announcements transmited by oral tradition and had been copying by the singers and vendors, who have to overcome the noise of the big city. They interrupt all the mundane meditation and impress us with their melodius sings and offers.

It happens that every time I listen them, I carry it like a mantra in my head during all day. Ever felt that way?
